Review of the Richmond Bridal Show

Bridal Show
On Sunday, August 9, 2009, Timely Events attended the Richmond Bridal Showcase in Richmond, VA. The event was held from 11 AM to 5 PM at the Greater Richmond Convention Center. Upon arrival, we were greeted by numerous vendors wanting us to sample and take a peek at their products and services. As with most bridal expos, bakers were on hand with various cakes for all to taste. There were beautiful floral arrangements, wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses, and more food to tantalize our taste buds.

The highlight of the day was the highly anticipated fashion show which began promptly at 3 PM. Beautiful wedding gowns graced the runway! Hooped ballgown dresses, elegant, sophisticated, strapless satin wedding gowns were all on display. Magenta, pink, fuchsia, rustic brown bridesmaid dresses were eye-popping colors that transformed the runway.

While one would expect to see only women at an event such as this, there were a few men in the crowd who tagged along with their fiances. One guy in particular said he was persuade by his fiance to attend by the luring of food. Overall, this event was a success! Sponsored by Bella Rosa (bridal and special occasions), Timely Events looks forward to next year's event.

Timely Events Sponsors Local Debutante

On April 11, 2009, Timely Events was a proud sponsor of the Rho Mu Omega’s first annual Debutante Pearl Ball Cotillion. This event was sponsored by the DC Pearls III Foundation and Rho Mu Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. This event was held at the Camelot in Upper Marlboro, MD for high school students residing in the DC Metropolitan area.

As part of this organization, eleven young ladies were given the opportunity to attend workshops ranging from finances to SAT preparation and participate in community service projects such as feeding the homeless. As participants in this event, students were awarded scholarships for having the highest grade point average, being the most congenial and having the most sponsors, just to name a few.

Maya Allicock was sponsored by Timely Events. A senior at Washington International School, Maya received a scholarship for having the highest grade point average. She will be attending college in the fall where she will major in Drama and Marketing.

Overall, the young ladies all looked fabulous as they danced the night away with their fathers and escorts. Timely Events looks forward to being an active participant in future cotillions as we are excited to assist the youth of today in obtaining quality educations—enabling them to become productive members of society.
